Health workshops: Confident, healthy and educated
School attendance is not a given for many children and young people in Malawi, especially for girls. Poverty, social constraints and a lack of health care make access to education considerably more difficult. The Christian-Liebig-Stiftung e.V. (CLS) wants to change this. Our goal is not only to make it possible for pupils to attend school, but also ensure that they are healthy enough to do so.
Health workshops: Knowledge that changes daily life and the future
The health workshops held regularly by Dr. Chisomo Tumeo give pupils in Malawi the opportunity to gain vital knowledge that helps them in their day-to-day lives. Chisomo Tumeo not only imparts medical knowledge, but also explains simple but effective measures for preventing illnesses. Whether it’s about how to wash hands properly, eating healthily or basic hygiene, participants receive practical tips for how to protect their health.

The workshops now reach not just individual schools but hundreds of girls. In September 2025 alone, more than 140 girls took part in Mtakataka and at Christian Liebig-Secondary School. In the long term, our goal is to reach around 1,000 young women – giving them the knowledge and tools they need to pursue their education in a healthy and confident way.
